This is a Reunion Website for students of St Peter's School in Southbourne, The Convent of the Cross in Boscombe, and St Mary's Gate School in Southbourne
The trick with this site is to start at the bottom and work up -- advice provided by Ginge Creagh (many years ago in one of his finer moments !) that has come in very handy on innumerable occasions over the last half century
Chris Crilly here '56 to '67. I remember the Shell Garden very well. I remember visiting it almost every time I went to the Crossroads. It was an odd place. Impressive in that the work that went into the shell collection was formidable, but for some reason I found the whole thing uninspired and uninspiring. Aesthetically it was terrible, more cement than anything else. I always thought it bizarre that this was Southbourne's greatest gift to the area's cultural life. I wonder if it is still there. The whole thing was probably just a good way of avoiding mowing the front lawn.
