This is a Reunion Website for students of St Peter's School in Southbourne, The Convent of the Cross in Boscombe, and St Mary's Gate School in Southbourne The trick with this site is to start at the bottom and work up -- advice provided by Ginge Creagh (many years ago in one of his finer moments !) that has come in very handy on innumerable occasions over the last half century

The chap between Paul Collier and Mr. Dan is Mr. Smart (Chemistry teacher I seem to recall).
The brother to the viewr's right of Fr. Poure is Bro. Dennis Joseph
Thanks, Chris, for the names. It's great to get a little help in the memory department !
Sitting on Bro Ives left is Bro Michael, Geography Teacher
the brother on left of Fr Poure is Bro Edwin one time Bro Director, and the Bro far left seated is Bro Edmund German teacher.
Great to see this photo. I was a boarder at St. Peter's from 1956 to 1962. Even though the resolution of the photo is poor, I immediately recognized Brother Ives, Brother Elwin, Brother Austin and father Poure. My memories of the school are mixed! I remember the 'recruiting' brother from the seminary next to the school. He had a car with the registration JOY 10. I had to visit him one evening after prep to discuss my 'vocation'! He offered me tea and cake and I had to sit next to him on his bed, eating the cake from a wheeled trolley. His hand somehow appeared on my knee (we wore short trousers) and he told me what pretty blue eyes I had! I felt uncomfortable and made an excuse to leave his room. Back in the school house I told an older boy (called 'bogs' Young) about this strange experience. He laughed at told me, "don't you know? He's queer". Since I didn't know what that meant it didn't really enlighten me....
